Kastner Insurance Group (KiG) is committed to providing exceptional customer service and with that, we are adding a support team member to our growing insurance agency. This role is focused on troubleshooting requests from current and prospective clients, processing intake data for agents, assisting with managing documents, and supporting agency client retention efforts. Designed to support KiG Insurance Advisors, this role will not be responsible for bringing in new business. The ideal candidate will enjoy organization, appreciate a fast-paced, collaborative environment, have a proactive work ethic and be able to provide excellent customer service.
Job description
- Paid Time Off & Holiday Pay Schedule: You will receive accrued paid time off. Your initial paid time off will be 40 hours with an increase to 80 hours after the successful completion of 6 months of employment. Beginning on your first day of employment, you will be eligible to participate in KiG’s Holiday Pay Schedule, as outlined in the KiG Employee Handbook.
- Working Location: You will be working in KiG’s office at 141 Ridgeway Drive Suite 210 Lafayette, LA 70503. Your work schedule will be 8:00am - 5:00pm CST, Monday through Friday with a one hour lunch break.
- Licensing Requirements: Current Louisiana P&C licensing is preferred but you are not required to have an insurance license at the onset of being hired. If unlicensed, you will be required to complete your licensing within the first 6 months of employment. All continuing education requirements must be maintained and are paid for by the agency.
- Reimbursable Expenses: You will be reimbursed for any job-related out-of-pocket expenses including, but not limited to: professional dues, seminars, and continuing education courses.
- Starting Pay: $15 - $20 per hour based on experience
Job Responsibilities:

- Attendance and active participation in the weekly Monday meeting at 8:30 am CST
- Manage flow of incoming customer requests and troubleshoot solutions
- Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service when responding to requests from clients and insurance carriers
- Requests can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, account summaries, coverage explanations, eligibility, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, billing clarification, etc.
- Establish rapport to build, expand and solidify customer relationships
- Use a client-focused, needs-based review process to identify client needs and educate clients about their specific insurance options
- Maintain day to day client and agency files with proper records, according to KiG's procedures, in order to satisfy internal and external auditing requirements
- Develop complete client profiles and applications for new and renewal business, under the direction of Agency Management
- Have superior product knowledge and be familiar with the specific products offered by the Agency's carriers - self paced learning requirements
- Manage workflow and adjust priorities as necessary independently
- Maintain a strong work ethic with a total commitment to success each and every day
