Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician (Mechanical & Electrical) is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of both mechanical and electrical systems within the facility. This role requires hands-on experience with pumps, motors, prox switches, cylinders, and the ability to safely work with electrical systems up to 480 volts. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Extensive Industrial maintenance training and or Mechatronics Certificate or Degree with proven experience. Candidate MUST possess the following abilities.
a. Ability to program, modify, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs (Omron PLC preferred)
b. Ability to program, modify, troubleshoot, and repair, Vision systems) (Keyence, Banner, Teledyne, Omron)
c. Any industrial pneumatic, electrical, or mechanical experience is a plus.
d. CNC Automation experience is a plus
- Mechanical Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems, particularly focusing on pumps, motors, cylinders, and related components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures or breakdowns, especially in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and make necessary repairs.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed using machine tools such as lathes, grinders, and welding equipment.
- Ensure all mechanical equipment, including pumps and cylinders, is operating within specified parameters and is properly lubricated.
- Electrical Maintenance:
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, prox switches, control panels, PLCs, and wiring, with an emphasis on systems operating up to 480 volts.
- Safely install, repair, and maintain electrical components, such as lighting, transformers, circuit breakers, and electrical control systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams, particularly in relation to prox switches, motor control systems, and 480-volt circuits.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations, particularly when working with high-voltage systems.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Develop and adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule specifically tailored to pumps, motors, prox switches, cylinders, and high-voltage electrical systems to reduce downtime and increase equipment longevity.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
- Proactively identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure and recommend improvements.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others, especially when working with high-voltage systems.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety programs, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production teams to minimize disruption and downtime.
- Communicate effectively with management, engineers, and other team members regarding maintenance issues and project status.
- Participate in cross-training and skill development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance with a focus on pumps, motors, prox switches, cylinders, and electrical systems up to 480 volts.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, motors, prox switches, and control systems, with specific experience in working with 480-volt systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and solve problems efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout and electrical safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.

- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
