Weekend Part-Time Sushi Chef

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and culinary arts, with a focus on sushi preparation and presentation. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our fine dining standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed.

Duties

• Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety guidelines.
• Select high-quality ingredients for meal preparation, ensuring freshness and flavor.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices.
• Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate them into menu offerings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food service or as a cook, preferably in a fine dining or sushi restaurant setting.
• Strong preference towards Korean speaking candidates
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, particularly in sushi preparation and presentation.
• Familiarity with food handling regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
