Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Health Nurse Practitioner
Job Purpose:
The psychiatric nurse practitioner will provide mental health care to patients who are experiencing varying levels of difficulties due to life situations or mental health concerns, and in need of medication evaluation or medication management services. Psychiatric evaluation and limited psychotherapy are also provided.
The professional will provide services to children, adolescents, and young adults and adults as needed. The professional will be expected to be comfortable and experienced in working with individual children/adolescents and adult clients/patients but also be available for family therapy and consultation.

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Licensed to practice in the State of Kansas, Texas, Colorado, Washington, or Alaska.
Authorization to Collaborative Practice with Katie’s Way Plus Psychiatrist.
Essential Functions: The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals.
Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
Analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder.
Counsel outpatients as needed during office visits.
Advise or inform guardians, relatives, or significant others of patients' conditions or treatment.
Teach, take continuing education classes, attend conferences or seminars, or conduct research and publish findings to increase understanding of mental, emotional, or behavioral states or disorders.
Review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other psychiatrists or medical professionals.
Participates in Katie’s Way/Katie’s Way Plus administrative functions and projects, including some public functions and presentations if necessary.
Assist with and/or carry out routine cleaning/maintenance of the clinic, patient care equipment and supplies in accordance with regulatory standards and EHS policies and procedures.
Abide by all facility policies and procedures and educational requirements.
Comply with all local, state and federal regulations training and instruction requirements, as well as any other standards that govern healthcare services.
Perform other duties as assigned and permitted by law & training.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
