Reports To : Campus Principal & Supervisor for Alternative ProgramDuty Days : 187 DaysWage / Hour Status : Non-ExemptPay Grade : IS05Qualifications : College hours, high school diploma or GED Ability to work with children with disabilities and behavioral escalationsAbility to follow verbal and written instructionAbility to effectively communicate knowledge of general office equipmentAccuracy in record keeping and form completionAbility to keep information confidentialParaprofessional Aide certificate required once employedPrimary Purpose : Data tracking, instructional, and student care duties as assignedMajor Duties and Responsibilities :
Adhere to federal, state and local policies and procedures related to special education.
- Participate in planned in-services and professional growth activities.
- Assist in carrying out the instructional program for students.
- Assist in maintaining student records and audit folders.
- Assist in preparation of instructional materials and activities.
- Assist with teacher-planned activities.
- Assist in preparation for ARD meetings.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining the student achievement and behavior data.
- Obtain and maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
- Support the Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) accepted by the ARD committee.
- Provide instruction to students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
- Provide behavior intervention strategies under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
- SHARS / Medicaid - related related duties may be required.Equipment Used : Personal computer, copier, calculator, fax machine, laminator, Smart boards.
