Qualifications:
Master’s Degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certification
Three years successful teaching experience
Strong content knowledge
Leadership experience (i.e., instructional coach, campus lead teacher, team leader, department chair, etc.)
Experience with developing and delivering professional learning
Strong technology skills including technology integration
Strong data analysis skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with and lead adult learners
Willingness to acquire and apply new skills
Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Instructional Coaches in working directly with classroom teachers on the delivery of high quality instruction. This instructional coach facilitator will work with building administration, district level staff, and other instructional coaches. This position will be required to have a strong knowledge of effective teaching practices that address differentiated instruction and the digital learner. The instructional coach facilitator position will serve as a liaison between the instructional coach and the campus and district staff. They will implement district instructional initiatives, provide job-embedded professional development, and accomplish specific campus/district goals.
The instructional coach facilitator will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
- content knowledge
- instructional strategies and best practices
- differentiation of instruction
- classroom management
- data interpretation
- professional learning delivery/facilitation
- integration of technology
- student engagement
Major Responsibilities:
- Meet regularly with instructional coaches and teachers to collaborate and support the delivery of instruction.
- Work directly with instructional coaches to improve instruction.
- Model instructional strategies and lessons for instructional coaches/teachers.
- Assist instructional coaches in analyzing test data and facilitate discussions to focus instruction to improve student performance across the district.
- Plan, facilitate, present and evaluate professional learning for instructional coaches/teachers.
- Work collaboratively with curriculum coordinators and other department support staff to develop knowledge and skills of instructional coaches.
- Assist instructional coaches with ensuring the direction, goals, and objectives of the district are understood and implemented.
- Model district-supported instructional strategies/lessons based on district curriculum.
- Exhibit professionalism at all times and view collaborative work as a process to derive at a solution that will aid student learning.
- Work closely with instructional coaches using district and campus data to guide instruction to meet identified campus/student needs.
- Build campus capacity through on-site professional learning based on data analysis.
- Use knowledge of the digital learner; promote/model digital learning; and instructional coaching; and assist in integrating technology in KISD instruction.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise to campus level administration, teachers, and students for effective instructional technology integration.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, printer, copier, and instructional technology tools identified for assigned core curriculum content areas.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district travel. Moderate lifting.
