The General Foreman is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and supporting HVAC and Plumbing Working Foremen in the field. This position emphasizes strong leadership, effective communication, and operational excellence. The General Foreman ensures project goals are met, fosters teamwork, and aligns with company values, including safety, quality, and customer excellence.
Job Functions
Leadership & Team Development:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to HVAC and Plumbing Working Foremen, promoting continuous improvement in leadership and technical skills.
- Lead by example, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment that reflects the company's core values.
- Address and resolve field-related challenges, acting as a resource for Foremen and field teams.
- Conduct regular meetings with Foremen to review project progress, address concerns, and share updates.
Project Oversight & Support:
- Collaborate with HVAC and Plumbing Working Foremen to ensure projects are on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to align field operations with overall project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Assist in planning daily and weekly tasks, allocating resources, and managing priorities across teams.
- Serve as a liaison between field operations and upper management, providing clear communication and updates.
- Establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Customers to ensure smooth project execution and high levels of satisfaction.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a culture of safety on all job sites.
- Conduct periodic safety audits and worksite inspections to address potential risks and improve compliance.
Quality Assurance & Performance:
- Monitor and evaluate the work quality of field teams, providing feedback and solutions for improvement.
- Work with working foremen to ensure adherence to project specifications and company standards.
Administrative & Reporting Duties:
- Support working foremen in maintaining accurate project documentation, including proper take offs, as-builts and ServiceTitan documentation.
- Present information to management regarding project performance, team updates, and challenges.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports related to assigned activities.
- Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.

Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in HVAC and/or Plumbing roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor others.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards, construction practices, and building codes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Ability to work under constraints and to make the most out of allotted resources.
- Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
