Job Summary
An assembler performs any of a number of duties as listed below in preparation for assembly, sub- assembly, core assembly, and finishing processes in the production of the final product. No experience is required – we will train you!
Key Responsibilities
An Assembler performs a variety of tasks, including:
- Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub- assemblies, using hand tools, and electronic and pneumatic tooling. As well as soldering when job requires it.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Build their first piece samples based on the Print/drawing/visual aids.
- Inspect their own work/quality checks.
- Learn new departments depending on manufacturing needs: Cross-train.
- Complete jobs at a timely manner based on routings time studies.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, efficient, and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Be on time and ready to work at the beginning of each shift in their workstation.
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
- Any other functions or tasks as directed by the Team lead/Supervisor.
Key Qualifications
- An understanding of basic English is helpful, but not required.
- 3 months of related factory experience preferred.
- Ability to follow established methods and procedures such as build a cable assembly, cut, and strip wire, pot, crimp, apply labels, plug wires into connectors, operate heat seal gun, operate a bench press, and solder wire.
- Accuracy reading measuring tools, interpret visual aids, and perform simple math
- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving lightweight materials, as needed, typically not more than 35 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive work
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, and reach.
