Kauffman Engineering, LLC is headquartered at 701 Ransdell Road, Lebanon, IN 46052 and has an immediate opportunity for an Entry Level Assembler at our Cornelius, OR facility.
Assembler Job Summary
Performs repetitive bench, board, machine or line assembly operations to produce wiring harnesses per our customer’s specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for adhering to all ESD and safety regulations.
Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub- assemblies using hand tools, electronic and pneumatic tools.
Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Know production priorities and manage time accordingly.
Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly.
Any other functions or task assigned by supervisor.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and understand Work in Progress documentation
Ability to read and interpret engineering assembly drawings and production drawings
Basic component identification skills
Trim ends of wire, labeling operations, hand assembly, hand crimping, non-complex testing, tin dip and wire soldering
Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and must be able to perform simple shop math
Education and Experience:
High School or equivalent
3 months of related factory experience preferred, will train right person

Assembler specific General Work Instruction Training
Physical Demands:
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
Repetitive work
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
Typically, not lifting more than 5 lbs., but some work can require up to 35 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Eye protection is required – either personal prescription glasses or company issued safety glasses
Smocks optional– they are company issued
Work Environment:
Work performed in a shop environment
· May work at different workstations as production needs require
