Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Welding, Fabrication, and Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting various machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, coupled with practical maintenance experience, ensuring both the creation of quality components and the smooth operation of machinery and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding & Fabrication:
- Perform a variety of welding techniques, including MIG (optional TIG, Stick) and other welding methods, on various materials (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.).
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication of components.
- Assemble and fabricate parts and structures by cutting, grinding, bending, drilling, and welding materials to meet specifications.
- Utilize fabrication tools such as saws, grinders, presses, and other equipment to shape and prepare materials.
- Inspect and ensure the quality and structural integrity of welds and fabricated components.
- Maintenance & Equipment Repair:
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on all welding, fabrication, and manufacturing equipment, including welding machines, CNC machines, fabrication tools, and industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Perform emergency repairs on equipment to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer's guidelines.
- Machine Operation & Troubleshooting:
- Operate and maintain a range of machines, including CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
- Monitor machine performance, identifying potential issues and performing necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Adjust machine settings, including feeds, speeds, and tooling, to optimize production and achieve quality standards.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow and enforce all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety measures are observed during welding, fabrication, and maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to company policies and industry regulations regarding quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report issues, repairs, and progress on tasks.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Work closely with production managers and other technicians to ensure the timely completion of projects and repairs.
- Provide feedback on process improvements, maintenance schedules, and welding/fabrication techniques to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in welding, fabrication, maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in both welding/fabrication and maintenance/repair roles.
- Strong proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and fabrication tools (saws, grinders, presses).
- Experience with CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and general machinery maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Ability to take pictures, measurements, and notes to relay information to supervisor and quoting department.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and their maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to safety standards.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to speak to customers and staff in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Comfortable working in a workshop environment with exposure to noise, heat, fumes, and other environmental factors.

Weekly day range: Monday – Thursday (Fridays off)

Pay: $23.48 - $24.59 per hour
