Job Responsibilities : The selected candidate will report directly to the Vice President, Mechanical Engineering and will be responsible for performing finite element analysis (FEA) to support the design and development of our products. Key responsibilities include : Performing FEA analysis for radome structures and related accessories. Preparing technical reports and memos to support ongoing and prospective customer projects. Working closely with engineers and department managers to ensure product safety, performance, and reliability. Participating in design review meetings and factory acceptance testing when necessary to present analysis work. Supporting the engineering and marketing departments in preparing technical proposals and other company assignments. Providing technical support to manufacturing, quality control, and field activities. Using CAD / FEA analysis tools and developing custom computer programs as needed. Writing and documenting findings using computer-based word processing tools. Desired Skills & Experience : The ideal candidate should have a strong background in design and practical applications in the following areas : Structural design and finite element analysis (FEA) : Developing finite element models and performing structural analysis. Interpreting FEA results, making recommendations, and writing analysis reports. Optimizing designs using FEA outputs. 3D modeling and CAD : Creating and modifying 3D solid models (Autodesk Inventor experience desirable). Engineering fundamentals : Strong understanding of mechanics and finite element theory. Knowledge of material properties, material testing, and verification (composite materials experience is a plus). Structural analysis for linear / nonlinear problems. Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for fluid-structure interactions. Experience in vibration / seismic, buckling, and thermal analysis. Technical and computational skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Matlab / Mathematica and ability to develop custom programming code. Basic electrical engineering knowledge to collaborate with the Electromagnetic Engineering Group and electricians. Cross-functional support and collaboration : Providing technical support for manufacturing, quality control, and CAD departments (familiarity with composite fabrication techniques is a plus). Supporting field installation and operational activities (civil / construction knowledge is desirable). Ability to work effectively in a small business environment and collaborate with multiple departments. Security and compliance : Must pass a background check with no prior convictions or arrests. Prior experience with DoD projects is desirable. Job Requirements : Graduate degree in mechanical / structural engineering (Ph.D. desirable but not required). U.S. citizenship required.
