**Job Title:** Land Manager
The Kaw Nation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Manager to join our team. As a key member of our land management department, you will be responsible for overseeing the Nation's land inventory and classification program, as well as coordinating with federal, state, and local governments on land management issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop forests, rangelands, and other natural sites for conservation or resource development.
- Work with private landowners and government agents to achieve land management goals.
- Stay up-to-date with pertinent legislation and land use regulations.
- Design and implement ways to improve the land with minimal environmental impact.
- Develop and evaluate programs to sustain the land and its wildlife.
- Select and prepare sites for planting trees and other crops.
- Monitor grazing lands for signs of disease, insect infestation, and over-grazing.
- Lead-based paint inspections and risk assessments as needed.
- Conduct home energy audits and assessments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in resource management, planning, or a related field.
- Four years of experience in land management, or an additional four years of professional experience in land management may be substituted for formal education.
- Demonstrated ability to read maps and knowledge of legal property descriptions.
- Ability to physically lift at least 50lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
