Taquan Air has been serving Southeast Alaska for more than 40 years.  Based in Ketchikan Alaska, we fly year-round to a variety of communities on Prince of Wales, Revillagigedo and Annette Islands as well as to mainland Alaska with our fleet of DE Havilland Beavers and Turbine Otters.

Summary of essential job functions, responsibilities, and duties: 

 

  • Maintain De Havilland Beavers and Turbine Otters. 
  • Perform Phase inspections on company aircraft 
  • Follow all company manuals and adhere to all applicable 14 CFR's, company policies and procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) program.  
  • Duties include Inspections, troubleshooting and fixing line discrepancies, keeping company aircraft operating efficient and safely, maintaining a clean and friendly working environment 
  • Excellent communication skills required with coworkers, operations, and freight departments.  
  • Possess Airframe and Power Plant certificates. 
  • Strong sheet metal skills preferred.  
  • Pass pre-employment and drug/alcohol screening. 
  • Possess adequate set of tools. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Ability to perform within a team environment and interact and collaborate with all levels of the organization. 
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, oral and written communication, attention to detail, and responsiveness to various needs of the team and organization. 
  • Ability to learn and become familiar with aircraft and instructions for continued airworthiness.  
  • Problem-solving and independent strategic thinking skills. 
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment, remain flexible, organized, and balance conflicting priorities, multitask projects/duties, continuously reassessing, and reprioritize projects based upon the direction and supervision of the shift lead and Director of Maintenance. 
  • Be and active participant in our SMS program.  
  • Must be 18 years or older.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills- must have a good sense of teamwork and collaboration.  
  • Must be able to deal with interruptions and maintain efficiency.  
  • Must be able to take and follow directions well.  
  • Strong attention to detail  
  • Ability to learn our aviation maintenance software Corridor Go. 
  • Ability to learn various computer software systems.  
  • Valid driver’s license.  
  • May be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, paint, or fuel odors. 
  • Activity such as: standing, sitting, squatting, walking, bending, and stretching for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 
  • Must be able to lift items from elevated levels (< 40 lbs.) as required by job duties. 

 

Compensation: 

 

Schedule: Full time  

 

Pay: Depending on experience
