Die Maint Tech I -3rd Shift

Description

Kawasaki Tennessee, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a Die Maintenance Tech I position in our Aluminum Die Casting facility. Candidates for this position must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime. If you are a team player who is dependable, quality oriented and enjoys a fast paced, challenging work environment, we would like to hear from you. This position is for 3rd shift.

Position Summary:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models.
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
• Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining.
• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of basic machine shop equipment.
• Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, and micrometers. 
• Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools.
• Test completed dies or fixtures for proper operation.
• Knowledgeable in procedures and safety measures of designated areas of responsibility.
• Performs regular safety audits.
• Actively participates on Company Safety committee.
• Supports continual improvement initiatives.
• Complies with all TS requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Commensurate training/job experience.
• Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to work rotating day/night shift each month.

        Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, lifting, and bending.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently throughout a shift.
• Must have good responses and be alert at all times.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
