Kawasaki Tennessee, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a Die Maintenance Tech I position in our Aluminum Die Casting facility. Candidates for this position must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime. If you are a team player who is dependable, quality oriented and enjoys a fast paced, challenging work environment, we would like to hear from you. This position is for 3rd shift.
Position Summary:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models.
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
- Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining.
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of basic machine shop equipment.
- Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, and micrometers.
- Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools.
- Test completed dies or fixtures for proper operation.
- Knowledgeable in procedures and safety measures of designated areas of responsibility.
- Performs regular safety audits.
- Actively participates on Company Safety committee.
- Supports continual improvement initiatives.
- Complies with all TS requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Commensurate training/job experience.
- Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
- Ability to work rotating day/night shift each month.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, lifting, and bending.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently throughout a shift.
- Must have good responses and be alert at all times.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
