Empties trash, replenishes supplies, ensures sanitation and safety standards, and reports maintenance issues. Collaborate with staff to maintain a clean and organized workspace. Complies with regulatory requirements for food service sanitation.Qualifications
License /Certification
Preferred: ServeSafe Food Handler Certification
Experience
Required: Janitorial /cleaning experience in food service, food processing environment, restaurant or healthcare setting.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures
Ability to handle cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines
Good communication skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Testing
Must pass the Physical Capacity Exam (PCE). This exam includes a 50-pound lifting requirement.
Job Responsibilities
Essential
Performs routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and dusting in designated areas.
Operates cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaner, floor scrubber, power washer, and steam cleaner, and any others needed to effectively complete job tasks.
Deep cleans food service equipment, cooking tools and wares, storage and preparation areas, dining room, and surrounding areas.
Empties trash bins and disposes of waste following established procedures.
Works with department leadership and the pest control company to facilitate the removal of pests from the environment, when necessary.
Monitors and replenishes cleaning supplies as needed.
Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety standards; follows established protocols for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
Reports and tracks maintenance issues or hazards using the work order system; escalate to leadership when necessary.
Collaborates with other staff to maintain a cohesive and well-organized workspace.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay Range
