8420 Security ServicesOversees shift post assignments, promotes and maintains hospital programs by performing the following duties personally or through uniformed security personnel. Maintains efficient and effective department operation for the security services department, while requiring compliance with all Joint Commission, State, Federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. Supports the Kaweah Health's Mission, Vision and Values through the Security Management Program.QUALIFICATIONS
License /Certification
Required:
Proprietary Private Security Officer or Guard/Patrolperson registration.
Advanced International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) certification
HeartSaver AED
Valid California Drivers License. Must provide DMV report prior to offer being made. No driving infractions 5 years prior to hire or during time in this job. Infractions include DUI, Suspended or Revoked License, Reckless Driving.
Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training (CPI) within 60 days of hire/transfer.
Education
Required: Twelve units of college level classes related to job and approved by Manager: OR has been functioning as a Lead on a temporary/interim basis to provide coverage as appointed by Security Services Management.
Preferred: Customer Service training/education approved by manager with proof of completion.
Experience
Required: Three years experience in security
Preferred: Healthcare security experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
Testing
Must pass the Physical Capacity Exam (PCE). This exam includes a 50-pound lifting requirement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Coordinates the work activities of assigned shift staff.
Schedules other security officers to cover required shifts and oversees work activity during shift.
Trains new security officers or other personnel and provides on-going direction.
Investigates and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to law enforcement or designated Hospital department/unit for correction or follow-up actions. Maintains contact with Security Services Supervisor or Manager.
Checks doors and windows of building to ensure they are tightly closed and locked. Notes in written log any unlocked doors/windows. Submits information to Supervisor.
Decides when an incident requires written report, decides which report form to use and submits to Supervisor. May prepare other written reports as directed by Supervisor.
Responds to alarms and dispatched calls. Decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.
Patrols assigned area on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons, safety/fire hazards and reports circumstances to campus police unit for correction or follow-up actions.
Assists any persons in building or grounds needing direction or campus information.
Escorts people/property to desired destination when monies, documents, or safety of property or persons is a concern.
Unlocks buildings/doors after checking for identification and compliance with Hospital policies.
Observes activity and traffic in assigned area(s) to enforce Hospital rules/regulations. Alerts visitors of infractions.
Performs all duties of a Security Guard.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay Range
