The purpose of this position is to orchestrate and influence the work of others to enhance Kaweah Health's mission and vision and to achieve strategic priorities of the nursing division. Demonstrates high-level leadership accountability focused on safety and the requisite infrastructures necessary to meet expectations of the patients and families served.
QUALIFICATIONS
License /Certification
Required: CA RN license
Preferred: National certification in nursing leadership or specialty
Education
Required:BSN; or Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline, and MSN.
Preferred: MSN
Experience
Required: Five years of management experience in nursing leadership.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Responsible for overseeing daily operations and directing all aspects of Maternal Child Health including Labor & Delivery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Neonatal Intensive Care.
Responsible for meeting and maintaining California Children’s Services (CCS) requirements for the Pediatric and Neonatal programs.
Responsible for achieving perinatal core measure goals.
Directs the delivery of patient care in the areas of responsibility in concordance with the plan for the provision of care and service, and the plan for the provision of nursing care in the Kaweah Health.
Develops or participates in the development of patient care policies, procedures, protocols and standards which guide and support the provision of services.
Holds direct reports accountable for meeting standards of nursing practice and patient care.
Participates in nursing policy formulation and decision-making.
Develops, implements, evaluates and, as necessary, revises the plan for the provision of care and service in assigned services areas. Contributes to, and coordinates services with, the development, implementation and evaluation of the Kaweah Health plan for the provision of care and services.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of patient care and service.
Provides adequate staff resources for carrying out the plan for patient care.
Demonstrates knowledge of patient classification tools, and the Title 22 requirements related to patient classification.
Contributes to staff development.
Manages financial resources.
Communication with key constituencies.
Integrates the department/services with the Kaweah Health's primary functions.
Develops and implements policies and procedures consistent with the Kaweah Health Mission that guide and support the Provision of Services Plan.
Determines the qualifications and competence level for department staff. Makes recommendations regarding required staffing levels.
Continuously assesses and improves department performance.
Provides orientation, in-services and continuing education for staff.
Recommends requirements for space and other resources. Participates in selecting outside sources for needed services.
Enhances professional growth and maintains awareness of current industry trends, legislation or research which could impact department and the Kaweah Health.
