What are the responsibilities and job description for the Privacy Analyst position at Kaweah Health?
Responsibilities
Supports internal compliance investigations and audits throughout the Kaweah Health, including compiling detailed reports with recommendations to the Compliance & Privacy Officer, Management and the Board of Directors.
Monitors corrective action and completes appropriate follow up work to ensure that Management's Action Plans are completed within the established time frames.
Oversees the management of the Kaweah Health’s Privacy Monitoring tool, optimizing efficiencies and tracking capabilities if necessary.
Works with area Management and Human Resources to investigate potential breaches; completes breach reporting as necessary.
Maintains the Privacy Statement of Concern Log, document issues, findings and corrective actions taken towards issue resolution.
Assists the Compliance & Privacy Officer in preparation of breach reporting as necessary.
Provides support to other departments as it relates to development of monitoring tools and protocols.
Assists the Compliance & Privacy Officer in oversight of the HIPAA Privacy Rule Compliance.
Under the direction of the Kaweah Health Compliance Officer and/or Compliance Manager, completes audits and reviews.
Under the direction of the Kaweah Health Compliance Officer and/or Compliance Manager, prepares written communications and reports.
Researches regulations, monitors new laws, keeps fully abreast and informed of compliance and Patient Privacy and HIPAA related topics and assists with evaluation of potential risk areas and issues.
Qualifications
Preferred: Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in health care, accounting, business or in a closely related field. Seeking experience with hospital reimbursement, auditing, billing, compliance, or coding experience.
