Job Overview
We are seeking a well seasoned and passionate Chef to join our food service co-packing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, specifically with experience in recipe development for hot sauce, bbq sauce, bloody mary mix, and salsa . This role requires that you have the capability to create recipes for sauces and match existing flavor profiles. As a Chef, you will not only oversee kitchen operations you will also manage inventory, ensure that all food handling practices meet safety standards as well as lead the co-packing team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and create recipes with existing and new customers.
- Lead and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
- Train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Monitor kitchen operations to maintain efficiency and quality control throughout service periods.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or catering environment is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations within the culinary field.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and cost control measures is advantageous.
- A culinary degree or relevant certifications in food service is a plus but not mandatory.
