Production Supervisor -
The Production Supervisor directs and coordinates activities for the proper assembly, set-up, and operation of the department to produce quality product according to established specifications and outputs, by performing the specific duties personally or through subordinate or Team Leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Review production schedules to ascertain projected workload, product types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations
- Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
- Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
- Observe workflow and machine utilization to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
- Develop and / or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards
- Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Human Resources or Plant Manager for action
- Compile, store and retrieve production data
- Meets with work teams once per week for safety trainings and to discuss weekly departmental agendas
- Manage subordinate team leader who coordinates the work of up to total of 15 to 25 employees in the work team
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations' policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- May cover for other supervisors
- Promotes and maintains the META initiative which emphasizes employee engagement, team building and continuous improvement
