What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation- 3rd Shift position at Kayem Foods?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain all equipment, tools, and work areas clean and ready to be utilized by the production department
- Assist the Sanitation crew in cleaning other miscellaneous equipment and areas as required
- Assist in all operations of the department
- Be crossed trained in Smoker, Cook Tanks, and Massage Operator position responsibilities
- Setup and teardown production equipment as needed to perform specific cleaning applications
- Utilize chemicals and water to completely remove all residuals left by food contact
- Perform cleaning and sanitizing functions for all tanks, hoppers, conveyors and related equipment
- Wear protective equipment (provided by company) and follow all safety procedures
- Perform maintenance duties or other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
- Have the ability to work in area with high temperature water
- Be able to frequent bend, stoop, push, pull, and walk as required
- Be willing to be cross trained within department to cover responsibilities if required
- Complete other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Individual must be able to work in a wet environment and perform each essential duty
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
- Have basic mathematical skills including calculating percentages
- Be able to lift 50 lbs. or greater
- Ability to work in a wet, cold, and loud environment
- Available to work flexible hours that may include overtime and Saturdays if requested or necessary
