Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and driven Analytics Engineer to join our team at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, engineering, and visualization, with a focus on transforming data into actionable insights to drive operational efficiencies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create and maintain scalable analytics solutions, utilizing cutting-edge technologies, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support airport operational analytics.
• Build and manage data models and infrastructure that facilitate the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources.
• Design, implement, and maintain analytics dashboards and reports that provide key insights to various stakeholders, including airport operations, management, and partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and IT, to understand data needs and deliver effective analytics solutions.
• Work with large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies to provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
• Perform data validation, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval processes for maximum efficiency.
• Implement data quality frameworks and ensure the reliability and accuracy of all reports and dashboards.
• Support data governance initiatives, including data cataloging, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Use advanced analytics techniques to support forecasting, predictive analytics, and machine learning projects aimed at improving airport efficiency and passenger experience.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or similar roles.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Expertise with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create dashboards and reports.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R for data manipulation, automation, and analytics.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, such as AWS (Redshift, S3), Azure (Synapse, Data Factory), or Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery).
• Experience working with big data technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar distributed computing tools.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and database management systems.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in agile development environments and DevOps practices is a plus.
