Role: Business Analyst Consultant
Location: Los Angeles, California (Onsite)
The work shall include, but is not limited to:
DR Related Analysis Work:
1. Conduct business impact analysis to identify critical business functions, processes, and systems, and assess their vulnerability to potential disasters.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to define recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) for key business processes.
3. Analyze and document current DR/BCM processes, procedures, and systems, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
4. Develop comprehensive DR/BCM plans and strategies, including risk mitigation measures and business process recovery strategies.
5. Facilitate workshops and interviews with key stakeholders to gather requirements and obtain input for DR/BCM initiatives.
6. Identify and document dependencies between business processes, systems, and resources to ensure their effective recovery during a disruption.
7. Evaluate and recommend DR/BCM technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance preparedness and recovery capabilities.
8. Conduct cost-benefit analysis to assess the financial impact of DR/BCM initiatives and justify investments in necessary resources.
9. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and technology solutions for DR/BCM.
10. Provide guidance and support during the implementation of DR/BCM plans, including testing, training, and awareness programs, and assist in the creation of recovery procedures and playbooks.
PMO Related Analysis Work:
1. Collaborate with IT PMO to define and establish project management standards and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in project execution.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements for IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
3. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to assess the viability of proposed IT projects and provide recommendations for decision-making.
4. Facilitate the development of project charters, scope statements, and project plans, ensuring clarity in project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
5. Perform business process analysis and mapping to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within IT projects.
6. Conduct stakeholder analysis and management to identify and engage key project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Collaborate with IT PMO to develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements specifications, functional and technical design documents, and change control processes.
8. Collaborate with the PMO team to monitor project progress, track milestones, and manage project risks and issues, providing timely updates and recommendations for corrective actions.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of project management tools, methodologies, and templates to enhance project governance and control.
10. Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement, capture best practices, and promote continuous learning and development within the PMO and IT Department.
11. Perform analysis on ITSD’s strategic plan and ensure alignment with the Department’s and business units’ strategic plans, identifying resulting projects and their interdependencies.
12. Develop training programs to onboard new business analysts.
