Job Title: Forming Operator (Brake Pad Manufacturing)
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Manager
Pay Rate: Starting at $13.00 per hour

MAJOR FUNCTION

The Forming Operator is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the brake pad forming process. This role includes operating machinery, ensuring continuous production flow, and maintaining high-quality standards. The Forming Operator collaborates with team members to oversee the feeding of materials, troubleshooting machine issues, and adhering to safety protocols to maintain a productive and safe work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and monitor forming machines in the brake pad manufacturing process, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure proper feeding of raw materials into machines and monitor production flow.
• Monitor machine functions, including robots, presses, auto-weighing machines, and BP arrangement machines, to ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensure raw materials are available and correctly loaded into machines, following safety and quality protocols.
• Verify and track LOT numbers for production batches to ensure accuracy and quality control.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues. Report any recurring problems to the Production Manager for further action.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including cleaning tools, dies, and equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures and checklists to maintain consistent production quality and meet production targets.
• Report any machine alarms or safety concerns to the Production Manager promptly.
• Ensure the forming line adheres to safety guidelines and operational standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager to support overall production efficiency and team goals.

PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing plant environment (preferred in automotive or similar industries).
• Knowledge of manufacturing tools, equipment, and machinery used in brake pad production.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required for material handling and machine operation.
• Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate production records.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met.
