KBFS is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Technician to support on-going operations at the Geneva Municipal Airport, AL.
Military experience is a plus. This is not a teleworking position. This is a part-time position.
Job Description:
Under supervision of the Airfield Manager, Fixed Base Operator (Site Manager), or higher level technician, responsibilities include scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repair of airfield equipment and systems. Conducts assessment of light duty trucks, tractors, fuels systems, ground support equipment, and special tools assigned to the Geneva Municipal Airport in Geneva, AL.
Repairs light duty trucks, trailers and other vehicles, Aviation Ground Support Equipment (AGSE), generators, and refueling equipment.
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience as an auto or diesel mechanic.
- Familiar with electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Must have the ability to work different shifts.
- Must have ability to perform routine task with limited supervision.
- Must have ability to learn through training how to use required tools and special equipment to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Must have ability to work safely in an aviation environment (wear safety and personal protective equipment as required).
- Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must have ability to climb and work on maintenance platforms as required.
- Must have ability to troubleshoot and repair ground support equipment
- Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair.
- Must have ability to use computer hosted interactive technical manuals and forms
- Must score at least 3 out of 5 (where 5 is best) in using Microsoft office software
- Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and interpersonal team settings.
- Must possess a valid US issued driver’s license and have the ability to train to receive a CDL license
