We are currently seeking a Construction Technician I to join our team in the Albuquerque-Santa Fe Metropolitan Area. Job Overview

The Construction Technician I will assist the Outside Plant (OSP) division in constructing and maintaining utility networks. The role requires supporting construction site operations, assisting craft workers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

· Adhere to all OSHA safety procedures and company standards.

· Complete all required paperwork and reporting in a timely manner.

· Assist skilled workers in performing their tasks efficiently.

· Locate and verify utilities before and during construction activities.

· Prepare construction sites by removing debris and potential hazards.

· Dig, place, and pull utility products as required.

· Utilize hand tools and equipment effectively.

· Restore areas to pre-existing conditions, including seeding and straw placement.

· Monitor utility digging to prevent damage.

· Maintain and clean equipment regularly.

· Ensure trucks are stocked with necessary supplies and tools.

· Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the job.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

· 1 years of experience in the utility construction industry (preferred).

· General knowledge of construction practices.

Skills & Abilities:

· Ability to identify and distinguish colors of utility markings.

· Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Experience in lawn care/maintenance is a plus.

· Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs, as well as pushing, pulling, and carrying tools and materials.

· Strong coordination of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.

· Vision requirements: depth perception, close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

· Outdoor work in various weather conditions year-round.

· Travel and weekend work may be required.

· Work may involve confined spaces and prolonged periods of driving and sitting.

Compensation & Benefits

· Competitive hourly pay: $19 - $23/hr.
