Location: Carson City, NV
Duration: 12 months (extendable)
Rate: $W2/1099
Position Overview:
This pivotal role will lead data architecture strategy and oversee the migration of critical business data from legacy systems to modern, scalable platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in large-scale data migrations, relational database design, and performance tuning, with a track record of working on complex government or enterprise IT projects.
Qualifications:
10 years of experience in database architecture and administration, with a focus on data migration projects.
Proven success leading end-to-end data migrations involving multiple systems and large volumes of structured data.
Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, and modern database platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, cloud-based DBaaS solutions).
Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend) and scripting languages (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL, Python).
Strong understanding of data modeling (OLTP/OLAP), normalization, indexing, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with state or federal government data environments is highly desirable.
Experience working in agile and hybrid project environments.
Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
