About
The ideal candidate will have a construction industry background and relevant accounting and finance leadership experience. The ideal candidate will also have the appropriate business acumen to succeed the CFO role in the next 3 to 5 years. Additional details about the opportunity include:
- Reporting to the CFO - lead the day to day accounting and finance function including the monthly / annual close
- GAAP compliance
- Prepare and manage financial reporting packages
- Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance
- Primary contact for internal / external audits and SOX compliance reviews
- Responsible for managing cash and forecasts
- Partner with operations on estimating for pre-qualification documents to ensure accurate labor and insurance rates
- Review contracts and leases prior to execution
- Oversee executed contracts and change orders including bond, certificate of insurance and applicable subcontracts are compliant
- Oversee timely and accurate customer billings
- Maintain proper WIP / % of completion reporting and financial forecasts
- Coordinate filing of “Notice to Owner” on all new projects
- Work with legal counsel on claim issues
- Lead special projects
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related
- 6 years relevant corporate accounting and finance leadership experience in construction services or complex manufacturing
- Open to considering top performing individuals from Public Accounting with relevant construction services or complex manufacturing client experience
- CPA and/or MBA a plus
- Public company experience including internal controls and SOX compliance strongly preferred
- US GAAP compliance including revenue (ASC-606)
- Working knowledge of construction contract language and terms
- P&L management experience
- An eye for optimizing processes and systems
- Strong communication skills and business acumen
- Staff management experience
- Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
