Job Functions

• Evaluates the value of estate assets, decedent debts, administration costs, and estate taxes to determine financial requirements for the estate.
• Gathers all decedent assets and oversees payment of debts, federal and state estate taxes, income taxes, and other administrative expenses.
• Prepares federal, Massachusetts, and other state estate tax filings.
• Participates in federal and/or state estate tax audits under attorney guidance.
• Coordinates financial valuations of estate assets and develops trust-funding strategies as per estate plan terms, statutes, or beneficiary directives.
• Collaborates with the Estate Coordinator to complete probate forms and estate accountings for submission to the appropriate Registry of Probate.
• Maintains regular communication with the responsible attorney to ensure comprehensive oversight of estate administration and adherence to procedural deadlines.
• Cultivates productive relationships with clients, advisors, and professionals to exchange information and address inquiries effectively.
• Engages in ongoing training, including external and internal educational programs, consultations with attorneys, and professional development opportunities.
• Maintains detailed records for each assigned estate.
• Provides status updates and addresses issues related to estate administration to the Trustee and/or Department Manager.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in estate settlement.
