This role will be responsible for supporting tax matters including strategy and planning, compliance and tax return preparation. This is an ideal opportunity for someone coming out of corporate tax looking for a greater challenge or public accounting seeking a role in corporate tax. 3 days per week in office required. - Oversee all tax compliance and planning for the Company and its operations
- Prepare timely and accurate federal, state, and local tax returns
- File for payment extensions with supporting documentation as needed
- Oversee monthly sales/use, tangible personal property, and real estate tax returns
- Optimize tax strategies and deductions, minimizing Company tax burden through legal means
- Collaborate with leadership to establish effective tax policies and procedures for streamlined processes and improved efficiency
- Research complex tax issues and legal changes, consulting with external tax partners to gain insights
- Partner with senior leadership on tax matters
- Manage interactions with tax agencies regarding audits and notices
- Continuously evaluate and improve tax procedures and implement efficient solutions
- Lead and develop the tax team
- 5 years of tax experience to ideally include experience in a small to mid size public accounting firm
- Experience with pass-through entities and complex tax matters
- Supervisory experience
- BS in Accounting or related
- CPA and/or MST is preferred
- Experience with Federal and Multistate tax return preparation
- Knowledge of Individual, C Corp, S Corp, Partnerships, Foundations and Trusts a plus
- Exposure to S&U and property tax a plus
