Your Job We are looking for a talented Platform Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for securing our cloud and Kubernetes environments, integrating security into our CI / CD pipelines, and implementing best practices for infrastructure security. - Design, implement, and manage security controls across cloud platforms and Kubernetes environments.
- Establish secure deployment practices and manage container and platform security.
- Integrate and manage security components within CI / CD processes, including automated compliance checks and security testing.
- Define and recommend security configurations for Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Collaborate with platform engineers to ensure secure infrastructure design and promote secure practices in microservices and APIs.
- Monitor and respond to security events in CI / CD pipelines and cloud systems and assist in incident response planning and execution.
- Conduct post-mortem analyses for security incidents, implement preventive measures, and improve security processes.
- Act as a security advocate within engineering teams, providing training and fostering a culture of shared security responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with standards and regulations through regular audits and implementing necessary controls. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience securing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Kubernetes environments (RBAC, network policies, OS and container security).
- Experience integrating security controls into CI / CD pipelines (SCA, SAST, DAST), IAC security and runtime security controls
- Experience monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats in cloud, Kubernetes, and CI / CD environments.
- Experience scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) for security automation and tooling.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering teams to embed security best practices and drive security initiatives. What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with Kafka security, including authentication, encryption, and role-based access.
- Experience applying .NET security best practices
- Experience conducting security audits and implementing controls.
- Experience acting as a security advocate within engineering teams, fostering a culture of shared responsibility for security.
- Experience securing distributed applications, event-driven architectures, and API security best practices. For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 - $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. The application window is anticipated to close on 60 days from February 12, 2025.
