Kansas City International Academy (KCIA) is a kindergarten through 8th grade charter school located in the Kansas City Missouri School District. KCIA's focus is creating a world class school with an international focus. Many of KCIA's students are members of families who have immigrated to Kansas City from more than 25 different countries. About the Position:
This role ensures smooth daily functioning of the cafeteria, adhering to food safety, nutrition standards, and budget requirements, which are critical to school operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use the School Information System to manage and produce student lunch tickets (annually at the start of each school year, when cards are lost/damaged, as new students enter the school and any other situation in which lunch tickets are required)
- Maintain daily breakfast counts in the School Information System and DESE Food Service tally forms
- Coordinate with the Food Service Management Company to implement Breakfast in the Classroom as needed
- Maintain daily lunch counts in the School Information System
- Report daily meal counts to the Director of Student Services and Director of Finance
- Place orders for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables grant
- Submit order information for FFVP grant to Director of Student Services
- Implement all aspects of the FFVP grant (menu planning, scheduling, ordering, delivery of FFVP snack to classrooms)
- Complete all required Food Service trainings by the due date (Civil Rights, FFVP Grant, and all other applicable training)
- Coordinate with the Food Service Management Company and the Director of Student Services to ensure consistent high quality meal service
- Collaborate with the school nurse and FSMC to inform and communicate regarding all student food allergies and dietary needs.
- Other duties as assigned in support of the Department of Student Services
