KC Propane is interested in bringing on a full time sales person who wants to grow the Kansas City market. We have grown this business from 0 to 600 customers in a little over 7 years. We've done a combination of me knocking on doors to generate leads/close business and word of mouth.
My goal is to bring on someone who wants to put in the work it takes to add the next 1000 customers. KC Propane is a small business with a local owner, office manager, operations manager, 2 dock employees, and 3 full time drivers. We will generate 2.5 million dollars in sales this year.
You will be expected to cold call a minimum of 10 potential customers daily and set your own meetings. At cold calls you will get the correct contact information, provide them your business card, and leave them our company information. In your meetings you will be expected to present a clear and concise picture of who we are, what we do, and how we can improve upon their current service provider. A salesperson will need to prepare, organize, be direct, and follow through on a daily basis in this position.
We are interested in both new or proven sales people with the expectation they will consistently put in the high level work it takes to hit their numbers. Someone who has the ability to communicate to any level at a potential customer ownership, purchasers, buyers, and WH managers. We have the expectation that you will be a closer. We are interested in someone who can contribute in a meaningful way with a long term mindset at the company. This is a big enough market to provide a meaningful long term position.
We will hire someone with the expectation that they will work to sell propane exchange services at a high level, and they can be a consistent performer with the goal to add a specific number of gallons in a set period.
Any training and preparation towards a start date will be communicated prior to the start date and done in coordination between the owner, current sales person, and based on the new sales persons needs. The position will work with and communicate as necessary with the office manager and operations manager on a daily basis. The sales person will meet with the owner weekly throughout the sales person initial employment.
