Summer Camp Instructor
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated Cable Wakeboarding Instructor to join our summer camp team. As a Summer Camp Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and guiding campers of varying skill levels in the exciting sport of wakeboarding. You will ensure the safety, enjoyment, and personal development of all participants while promoting a positive and engaging camp experience. This is a Seasonal Full-Time Positions that will begin on May 26 and end Aug 8.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruction & Coaching:
    • Lead wakeboarding lessons on the cable system for campers of different ages and skill levels.
    • Teach wakeboarding techniques including balance, stance, turns, tricks, and jumps.
    • Provide individual feedback and encouragement to help campers improve their skills.
    • Modify lessons to meet the needs of various skill levels, from beginners to advanced wakeboarders.
    • Monitor camper progress and document achievements.
  • Safety & Risk Management:
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times during wakeboarding activities.
    • Perform daily checks of wakeboarding equipment, including boards, vests, helmets, and cables.
    • Enforce safety rules and ensure all campers are wearing the proper safety gear (life jackets, helmets).
    • Respond appropriately to any accidents, injuries, or emergencies, including administering first aid if needed.
    • Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with camp safety protocols and local regulations.
  • Camp Program Support:
    • Participate in camp-wide activities, games, and special events.
    • Actively engage with campers to create a fun, encouraging, and positive environment.
    • Assist in setting up, maintaining, and cleaning wakeboarding equipment and cable system.
    • Support other instructors and staff in daily camp operations, including planning and organizing schedules.
    • Foster a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among campers.
  • Customer Service & Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
    • Address any camper concerns or issues in a calm and professional manner.
    • Provide feedback to camp leadership regarding program improvements and participant needs.

Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in wakeboarding, preferably with cable wakeboarding systems.
    • Experience working with children and youth, especially in a camp or instructional setting, is highly desirable.
  • Certifications:
    • CPR and First Aid certification a plus but not required
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Enthusiastic, patient, and positive attitude.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Physical fitness and ability to participate in active outdoor sports.
  • Availability:
    • Must be available for the full duration of the summer camp season.
    • Willingness to work weekends and some evenings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience teaching wakeboarding or watersports at a camp or school.
  • Knowledge of cable wakeboarding operations, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of children and creating inclusive learning environments.
  • Certification in Water Safety, Boating Safety, or similar.
