Job Description
KC Welding and Machine Corp (KC Welding) is seeking a hard-working industrial painter and outbound shipment coordinator to join our team. KC Welding’s fabrication shop is a fast-paced environment, where we value a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and dependability.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare products for shipment on pallets, including banding
- Perform final inspection paperwork for all outbound shipments, ensuring the correct part is on the correct pallet and confirming other critical to quality details
- Working from a production schedule, ensure inventory is allocated to the correct orders based on due dates and inventory availability
- After painting products, prepare them for shipment by securely palletizing or boxing them
- Perform final inspection on outbound shipments to ensure the right products are going to the right customers
- Use and maintain spray gun paint systems to achieve high quality coatings on our products
- Paint KC Welding’s products with zinc rich primers and urethane top coats
- Paint additional products with latex paint through spray systems
- Prepare surfaces for paint, including taping and masking surfaces and verifying sandblast quality
- Perform paint inspections with gauges such as wet film combs and DFT gauges
- Safely use lifting equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks
- Must be able to work with limited supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Any other duties that management may require, from time-to-time, to ensure a safe and efficient operation
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience with zinc-rich and urethane industrial coatings
- Ability to read paint specifications
- Ability to mix paints according to prescribed formulas
- Ability to follow complex instructions
- Prior experience that demonstrates a mechanical aptitude
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
- Some technical or vocational training preferred
- Prior on-the-job experience may substitute for additional education
Compensation/Benefits:
- KC Welding offers competitive compensation
- 4-day work weeks. KC Welding’s production facility operates 10 hours a day, 4 days per week
