Summary:
As the Business Requirements Analyst II, you will evaluate KCC’s business requirements strategy and help to develop plans to reach our organizational goals. You will use your analytical skills and experience in business operations to review and improve our company's efficiency, productivity, or profitability through your project assignments. You will be leading large complex projects and mentoring other team members by designing requirement gather strategies and best practices for optimizing project performance. As the senior member of the business analysis team, you will collaborate with heads of other departments, such as sales, engineering, and manufacturing to document to understand and advocate their needs throughout the project life cycle. Define and establish goals, priorities, and performance metrics for analysts and achieve success. As the senior analyst, you will use your excellent communication and leadership skills, along with extensive analysis experience to deliver successful projects.
Essential Functions or Responsibilities:
- Effectively collaborate with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
- Mentor/Lead other analysts in best practices and proven methods for gathering requirements.
- Conduct interviews to gather user requirements through workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
- Identify and establish the scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
- Work with stakeholders and the project team to prioritize collected requirements.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
- Develop, document, and enforce standard templates to write requirements specifications accurately and concisely.
- Successfully translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/engineering and the project team.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
- Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to the business stakeholders and project team.
- Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine, as necessary.
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements – verbally or through written documentation – to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Escalate to Project Manager and/or Project Owner when identified changes to requirements become an impact to scope, schedule, or budget.
- Ability to see the big picture and identify upstream and downstream impacts
- Develops work-flow diagrams and user interface mock-ups
- Work with project sponsors, Software Developers, and other subject matter experts to collaborate on cross-functional teams in software design and development
- Helping the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future
- Support the project team/customer/user during the testing and validation cycles to ensure requirements have been met
- Create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
Qualifications/Skills:
Required:
- 5 years' experience in developing business requirements for large complex projects
- Able to easily adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in managing and track all requirements for large complex projects from start to finish
- Openness to adapting and enhancing existing processes
- Continuous improvement in all aspects of the requirements gathering process
- Excellent Problem-solving skills and the ability to work with cross-functional internal teams
- Ability to proactively anticipate potential issues or questions regarding projects
- Proven experience with business, engineering and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
- Demonstrated project management skills including planning and organizing.
- Understanding application development, software development life cycle concepts, and new product development.
- Experience with the organization’s core software applications, including Epicor ERP or similar, CPQ, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project Online, SharePoint, Teams
- Understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Preferred:
- Experience working for a manufacturing company with knowledge ERP systems and processes
- License or Certifications for Requirements Analyst (ITIL, PMP, CPIM, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Information Sciences, Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering

- Proven experience in translating complex technology into functional/user interface and business requirements
Safety/Physical requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
