Reports to Team Lead and works with teammates in receiving and putting away materials for production, maintaining computerized inventory control over every product movement using bar code scanners and confirming inventory levels and accuracy through accurate receipts and material movements. The role requires him or her to be knowledgeable in how to slot product, how to maintain inventory in a computerized inventory system and how to perform his or her work with a minimum of supervision. Also responsible for counting every item that comes through receiving for accuracy in inventory/receiving.

Reports to Team Lead and works with teammates in receiving and putting away materials for production, maintaining computerized inventory control over every product movement using bar code scanners and confirming inventory levels and accuracy through accurate receipts and material movements. The role requires him or her to be knowledgeable in how to slot product, how to maintain inventory in a computerized inventory system and how to perform his or her work with a minimum of supervision. Also responsible for counting every item that comes through receiving for accuracy in inventory/receiving.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Receives parts, counting ALL items according to Bills of Lading and Packing Slips, staging materials, and putting away inventory.
- Reports and delivers all HOT parts ensuring proper scanning and delivery, as well as updating the HOT Parts Board
- Retrieves and analyzes reports essential to the job.
- Performs receiving and put-away audits and investigates variances.
- Follows safety procedures and uses good operational and safety judgment at all times ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations.
- Communicates issues regarding receiving and put-away discrepancies to management and assists in resolving said discrepancies.
- May perform more complicated parts transactions.
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Develops and implements procedures for ensuring that materials are received in an accurate, timely and consistent manner.
- Maintains communication and strong working relationships with other departments including accounting, manufacturing, quality, sales, shipping and purchasing.
- Ensures that material receipts and put-away activities are completed regularly and in a timely manner.
- Communicates with Purchasing and Quality departments to provide alerts regarding non-conforming material discovered in Receiving and offer insights into how this may impact production operations.
- Investigates sources of packing list and material receipt discrepancies between actual on-hand quantities and computer system inventory log in order identify possible root causes and effect corrective action.
- Submit proposals and implement strategies for improving the organization of materials within the warehouse and the materials staging lot to improve the ease and efficiency of all material handling and warehouse activities.
- Work closely with Warehouse Supervisor to provide leadership for conducting Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual inventories.
- Safely operate company vehicles, including sprinter van, pick-up truck, or box truck, to pick up purchased parts from local suppliers.
- Safely operates various pieces of warehouse equipment (Forklifts, power tools, etc.).
- Actively participate as a member of the team to move the team towards completion of goals.
- Takes the initiative to find, identify and propose changes to processes needing improvement.
- Brief Management on a weekly basis on the status of receipts and material put-away activities.
- Keeps up with changing technologies such as computer software in order to remain valuable to his or her employer.
- Follows all existing company policies and procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Keeps a clean work area at ALL times (sweeping and taking out trash)
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately.
- Shows the ability to work well under pressure, such as when inventory deliveries or shipments become late or forgotten.
- Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills; displays reading comprehension skills.
- Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between cross-related departments.
- GED or High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficient understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- One or more years of lead experience preferred.
- At least two years of warehouse experience required.
- One or more years of experience operating a forklift or reach truck.
- Ability to lift and/or move boxes weighing 50 lbs. or less.
- Possess strong interpersonal and customer relation skills
- Working knowledge of MRP or ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Possess analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must pass background check and drug test
Physical Requirements:
- Certified Forklift Driver
- Weathered Conditions
- Overtime possibility during peak seasons.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Requires bending, stooping and standing
- Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. (Overtime may extend time period.)
- Good visual and spatial perception.
- Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
