Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Our CEI Practice is growing - we have an immediate need for a Project Administrator to lead projects with District 4, District 6, and the Florida Turnpike!

DUTIES, ABILITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & OTHER :

Ability to : Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)

  • Responsible for : Receiving general instructions regarding assignments and exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
  • Responsible for : Directing and assigning specific tasks to administrative and field staff and assisting in all phases of the construction project, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.
  • Responsible for : Progress estimates and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare construction inspection summaries of daily activities
  • Review drawings, specifications, and other contract documents for constructability (plans, specs, shop drawings)
  • Review detailed records of the contractor's daily operations including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work
  • Track / measure completed work quantities for payment
  • Manage the team of inspectors, coordinate their schedules and oversee their work and records
  • Monitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
  • Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues
  • Oversee and accept project sampling and testing of component materials and completed work
  • Verify the dimensions and calculations of prepared and completed work
  • Analyze complex construction / design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consults with design engineering personnel
  • Inform Client on project issues and provide them with recommendations
  • Interact with Project Managers and clients in a proactive manner to determine what routine issues affecting project management need to be addressed
  • Maintain construction project records in accordance with FDOT procedures
  • Interface proactively with the project managers, contractors, and inspection staff on various facets of the project including review of contract plans and documents, day-to-day construction activities and review of contractors' submittals
  • Perform / oversee the review of daily inspection reports and quantity computations
  • Directs and assigns specific tasks to inspectors and assists in all phases of the construction project
  • Responsible for the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration
  • Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns
  • Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports
  • Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals
  • Qualifications / certifications for this position may be obtained within six (6) months from the date of hire provided that this position works under the supervision and direction of a Senior Project Engineer, all other requirements for the position are met, and a training plan is submitted detailing when the qualifications / certifications will be obtained.

  • CTQP Quality Control Manager
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 - 9 years of experience required.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
  • Performance Expectations

  • Complete Annual Individual Training Program
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
  • Establish strong working relationship with client, contractors, and design engineers
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target
  • Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
  • Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
  • Assist in negotiating contractor change orders
  • Maintain document control for correspondence, RFIs, submittals, etc.
  • Oversee project schedule and budget
  • Prepare and analyze schedules
  • Prepare cost estimates
  • Read plans and specifications and understand the construction contractor's means and methods
  • Solve construction problems in the field
  • Test, document, and assure quality of contractor's work
