What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Engineer position at KCM Technical?
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop packaging: protective containers, unique shipping racks, dunnage
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure packaging compliance and quality
- Analyze engineering specs to determine packaging requirements
- Lead cross-functional packaging projects and coordinate internal/external teams
- Evaluate cost and feasibility of expendable vs. returnable packaging
- Maintain packaging standards for inbound components and raw materials
- Own PFEP (Plan for Every Part)
- Support safety compliance and internal policies
- Partner closely with manufacturing, logistics, and purchasing teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of packaging experience (automotive industry preferred)
- Familiarity with packaging testing standards (ISTA, ASTM, UN)
- Experience with PFEP, process flow mapping, and cost modeling
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD software such as SolidWorks or Catia (basic manipulation)
Salary : $40 - $50
