Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and direction to the plant maintenance function for a national food manufacturer at their Oswego County location. This role carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, OSHA regulations and applicable guidelines. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing, troubleshooting, and controlling all
plant engineering / maintenance functions to obtain optimum efficiencies from the equipment, utilities,
and overall facilities.

Job Responsibilities :
- Work in partnership with plant management team to utilize equipment to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness utilizing continuous improvement techniques and a Management Operating Structure
- Manages the maintenance and technical needs for the facility.
- Utilizes mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
- Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance
- Effectively supervises the maintenance inventory clerk as it relates to purchasing of parts and part inventory to ensure budgets are adhered to and the plant is adequately stocked with the appropriate levels of parts, supplies, and maintenance consumables.
- Lead and manage all activities and functions of the plant's Maintenance Department including interfacing with maintenance staff and cross-functional teams in trouble shooting equipment, electrical, mechanical and facility problems; following GMP’s and food safety standards as needed to improve plant performance.
- Support capital projects, coordination with contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers in coordination with the engineering team.
- Responsible for identifying productivity improvements across manufacturing operations using fact based root cause analysis to develop and implement engineering solutions.
- Shares and implements “best practices” within the Maintenance Department and partners with other departments to ensure plant operations are performing at acceptable performance standards.
- Plan and oversee all repairs, preventive maintenance and installation activities.
- Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees for the maintenance department. Supervise and coach maintenance staff through communication and training programs, complete performance evaluations, and provide feedback to direct reports.
- Ensure no physical, chemical, or microbiological contamination of food occurs.
