Sanitation Supervisor
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 3rd Shift Sanitation Supervisor to join a great team at a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility in upstate NY. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all cleaning and sanitization activities to ensure the plant meets the highest safety and quality standards. You will provide expert guidance, coordinate tasks, and manage department priorities to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Location : Greater Syracuse, NY region
Job Responsibilities :
- Coordinate various cleaning and sanitation functions within the facility.
- Take ownership of the sanitation program and accept responsibility for all aspects of the sanitation activities.
- Completion of associated documentation, maintaining sanitation chemical and equipment inventories, and identifying areas of improvement.
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility and structures, processing equipment, and surrounding areas.
- Inspect work of sanitation staff to verify conformance to specifications, and ensure procedures are being followed.
- Hire, motivate, train and manage sanitation staff.
- Guide, direct, and oversee the sanitation department.
- Ensure sanitation personnel understand procedures applicable to their position.
- Cultivate and promote a positive and innovative work environment.
- Ensure all sanitation personnel are trained and signed off in the use of PPEs, appropriate lock-out tag-out procedures, and safety.
- Estimate, maintain, requisition, and inspect materials, sanitation chemicals, and cleaning supplies as required.
- Develop and implement SSOPs for the plant.
- Manage and document sanitation activities.
- Delegate responsibilities to appropriate subordinates to benefit from the smooth running of operations.
- Recommend and implement procedures and measures to improve sanitation methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
- Utilize new technology and processes to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure timely completion of sanitation department goals and action plans both short and long-term.
