Job Summary/Description
Gray TV is seeking a state capitol reporter to support and elevate its Iowa newsrooms. This position is based in Des Moines, working out of an office covering all levels of state government as well as politics and issues of statewide interest with multiple live hits daily. This position will also have featured roles during elections and the Iowa Caucuses. This position works with a senior political reporter position for guidance and feedback in putting the spotlight on government and holding elected leaders to account!

Duties/Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Shoot, write, and edit news content.
- Coordinate with stations across the state for live shots and coverage of key events.
- Reformat and write content for digital platforms.
- Research story ideas.
- Develop and maintain sources.
- Participate in story selection and play an active role in the editorial process.
- Various shift work will be required; some holiday work is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Degree in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds of gear.
- Have and maintain a clean driving record.
