We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. This role will focus specifically on performing accurate takeoffs and estimates for various interior finish trades, playing a crucial part in our bidding process and project success.
Job Summary
The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, specializing in interior finish trades. This includes performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing labor and material costs, and compiling comprehensive bid proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent mathematical and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for the following trades:
- Metal Stud Framing
- Insulation
- Drywall (including finishing levels)
- Rough Carpentry (framing, blocking, etc.)
- Acoustical Ceiling Tile
- Flooring (all types - carpet tile, ceramic, VCT, LVT, etc.)
- Painting (interior and exterior)
-Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine scope of work.
- Research and obtain current pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Develop accurate cost estimates, including direct costs, indirect costs, and markup.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and present them to management.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate project budgeting and execution.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, and other relevant data.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new products, and estimating techniques.
- Visit job sites as needed to assess existing conditions and verify quantities.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a focus on interior finishes.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes related to the specified trades.
- Proficiency in performing accurate quantity takeoffs from blueprints and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, RSMeans) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
