Job Summary
The primary purpose of the full time Admissions Counselor II is to perform a wide variety of student affairs functions with primary duties related to dual credit, recruitment, and general advising.
Job Duties:
1. Contribute to all aspects of dual credit, partnering with the local high school counselors. Assist HCC recruiter with recruitment of dual credit students, oversee retention, advising, data entry and maintenance of records, transfer to HCC, etc. Manage dual credit email account.
2. Provide oversight, application, and record keeping of all dual credit scholarships for dual credit students via KHEAA reports. Apply scholarships within dual credit tile weekly and run reports to load scholarships to dual credit student accounts weekly for each fall and spring term.
3. Assist with special events and programs. Support other Student Services teams (Student Records, Advising, registration, etc.).
4. Provides general Admissions/Student Services support by serving walk-in students, data entry relating to admissions, and workshop participation or planning.
5. Serve on KCTCS System Office Dual Credit team. Serve on other committees as assigned.
6. Other duties as assigned by Director of Admissions or Chief Student Affairs Officer.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree and two years related work experience, or equivalent.
2. Excellent customer service skills/soft-skills, attention to detail, use of technology and communication skills.
3. Professional, outgoing personality, and familiar with general student services functions.
4. Ability to multi-task in an open office environment and respond to issues and concerns that affect the department, along with other college departments.
