Job Summary
Bluegrass Community and Technical College is hiring a full-time instructor with a broad background in Welding Technology. The instructor will teach various formats within the Welding Technology Program which includes Hybrid (online) lecture, competency based, and hands on labs. Classes will be administered in accordance with American Welding Society standards. This position will primarily work on the Leestown Campus.
Job Duties:
Provide welding instruction for online, in the classroom, and laboratory settings.-
Demonstrate current knowledge required by curriculum for welding and cutting processes in Oxy-Fuel Systems, Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc and Gas Metal Arc. -
Collaborate with business and industry to maintain an awareness of current technologies, trends, and issues. -
Provide academic advising and career-related counseling for students. -
Engage in recruitment and retention activities through programming at secondary schools, community partners, and professional organizations. -
Participate in faculty professional development activities to include employer sponsored training. -
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree AND 3 years related work experience OR
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Educator (CWE) OR Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) AND 3 years related work experience OR
- Kentucky Department of Transportation or industry equivalent welding certification AND 5 years related work experience.
