Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor, the position of Maintenance Technician shall be responsible to the general maintenance of buildings, grounds/landscaping, campus vehicles, building equipment, machinery, and other maintenance related equipment.
Job Duties:
- Performs completion of work orders as assigned by the supervisor.
- Unloads, checks, distributes incoming materials, supplies, and equipment for the campus.
- Assists in preparation for external/internal organizations use of the campus.
- Performs tasks as assigned by the supervisor which will correct, improve, and/or satisfy problems related to the smooth operation of the physical plant.
- Moves and/or rearranges furniture.
- Makes minor repairs on equipment including cleaning and lubricating.
- Performs such tasks as painting, plumbing, electrical and general repair work as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assembles new equipment and/or furniture.
- Transports supplies to appropriate campus locations.
- Removes snow, de-ices walkways and makes provisions for campus safety during inclement weather.
- Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturer’s specifications or supervisor’s instructions using hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing devices.
- Inspect all emergency eye wash stations and showers and flush regularly.
- Assist with security when necessary.
- Weed plant beds, rake, hoe, and mulch landscaped areas.
- Perform task related to grounds maintenance such as mowing of the grounds.
- Maintains preventative maintenance log books.
- Check and clean HVAC filters.
- Assist supervisor in setting up preventive maintenance schedules.
- Report problems to supervisor so corrective action can be taken immediately.
- Assists in making keys and changes door locks or cores.
- Assist in work order setups for events.
- Maintains campus vehicles in proper order. Reports any safety situations that warrant removal of vehicle from service for immediate repair.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Three years of general maintenance experience
- Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action on maintenance related issues
