Job Summary
Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a professional tutor to assist students with the various steps of the writing process and lead writing workshops.
Job Duties:
- Provides writing tutoring services.
- Provides in-person and virtual tutoring.
- Assists students with various steps of the writing process.
- Teaches developmental writing strategies and conducts workshops on writing skills topics.
- Communicates with faculty to build rapport and visits classrooms to promote the learning lab
- Engages in on-going professional development related to best practices in writing tutoring.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (related field), and two years related experience, or an Associate’s Degree and four years experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Critical thinking skills to assess the skill level and abilities of students and provide appropriate assistance.
- Time management skills to be flexible and move between various assignments and duties.
- Strong organizational and people skills.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Word, MS Access, and MS Excel.
