10-month Welding Instructor - August 2025 start
The Welding Instructor must be committed to providing quality instruction to students of various ages and backgrounds while meeting the program objectives. The ideal candidate must enjoy working with students both in and out of the classroom. This individual will fulfill all other faculty responsibilities for student and program support.
Job Duties
- Teach the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester.
- Plan and carrying out instructional activities.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs of training equipment.
- Maintain records and report on student progress.
- Provide academic advising, assist with student recruitment, retention and student outcome assessment.
- Keep abreast of technical changes in the field and update program accordingly.
- Participate in professional development activities, professional growth and institutional service.
- Engage in various departmental activities including course development and evaluation, mentoring adjunct faculty, and participating in continuing education/community service.
- Assignments may include teaching some evening, weekend and/or off-campus courses.
- Candidates must possess a strong commitment to teaching, working with a diverse population, and the community and technical college mission.
- Associate’s degree or in a technical discipline or industry certifications in welding.
- At least three years of experience in a welding position, including TIG. MIG, Stick welding and blueprint reading.

- Professional and courteous communication at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Clear verbal and written skills.
- Efficiently prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
- Five years of experience in a welding position, including TIG. MIG, and Stic welding and blueprint reading.
- AWS certifications preferred.
- Prior teaching and/or corporate training experience preferred.
- Experience in programming, running and troubleshooting robotic welders
- Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
- Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
- Applicants selected for an interview will be required to give a short (approximately 15 minutes) teaching demonstration on the topic to be determined prior to the interview.
