Develops and implements an all-hazards emergency response program for the college including hazardous waste disposals, lab safety, safety training/drills, and response to all emergency situations.
Job Duties
- Assesses existing disaster plans and develops an all-hazards response and recovery plan to address a wide variety of natural and man-made disasters. Evaluate disaster control methods and procedures; identify risk exposures relative to life safety and implement corrective action plans.
- Updates safety manuals and the Crisis Management Plan annually or as needed.
- Identifies and develops safety training programs for faculty, staff, and students; coordinates emergency preparedness drills (i.e. tornado, earthquake, bomb threats, fire, and workplace violence/intruders/active shooter, chemical spills, etc.)
- Coordinates hazardous waste disposals at all campus sites including, collecting manifest records, SOS compliance, chemical inventories, lab safety inspections, safety inspections of buildings and grounds, and recommends any corrective measures and required equipment.
- Works with IT to coordinate the "SNAP" emergency notification system and performs regular tabletop drill sequences and mini mock-up scenarios with the Crisis Management Team (CMT).
- Available 24/7 for emergency calls and immediate action and/or deployment of SNAP notifications.
- Tracks daily shift reports and logs criminal incidents for each campus site and updates the Incident Reports website as incidents occur.
- Completes safety reports including Minger Report, Clery Campus Crime Report, Annual Security Report, Emergency Operations Plan, Crisis Manual, OSHA Report of injuries, and other safety related reports as needed.
- Overseas security guard functions to provide a safe and secure environment.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.

- Supervisory Responsibilities: Functions in a lead capacity over Security and Shuttle services. May assign, schedule, and monitor the work of others.
- Oversight and Direction: Receives general direction working from established policies and objectives. Plans and carries out assignments and resolves most conflicts that arise.
- Surveillance: Monitor Security cameras and capture footage to assist in investigations
