Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in CPG or contract manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with process improvement initiatives is highly preferred.
- Training:
- Basic Lean Manufacturing training or certification (e.g., Lean Practitioner, Lean Foundations).
- Additional on-the-job training provided for continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with production equipment, packaging processes, and manufacturing systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools.
- Process Improvement:
- Analyze production workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process enhancements using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to reflect process improvements.
- Waste Reduction and Efficiency:
- Identify and eliminate sources of waste, such as material loss, downtime, and non-value-added activities.
- Support efforts to reduce costs while maintaining or improving product quality.
- Training and Team Support:
- Train employees in Lean tools and techniques, such as 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping.
- Work closely with operators, supervisors, and managers to drive engagement in improvement initiatives.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop reports and visualizations to communicate progress on improvement projects and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Project Management:
- Lead small to medium-sized improvement projects, ensuring timely implementation and measurable results.
- Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams to execute and sustain process changes.
- Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis:
- Use structured problem-solving tools to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support quality and production teams in resolving recurring problems.
- Support Operational Goals:
- Align improvement initiatives with business objectives, including productivity, quality, and safety goals.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions on operational excellence.
- Reduction in waste and operational inefficiencies.
- Measurable improvements in production metrics, such as cycle time and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Successful implementation of improvement projects that meet deadlines and deliver expected outcomes.
- Increased team participation and adherence to continuous improvement practices.
